The sale is for these 4 boat shaped sterling silver salts with a pedestal foot and with a gold interior wash. There are also 4 matching spoons. They were made by the important master silversmith Frederick Elkington and have a hallmark for London 1881. They are in very good condition but could use a more thorough polishing. They each measure app 4 1/2″ by 2 7/16″ and app 2 1/2 tall (to the handle). They are each decorated on one side with a raised arm with a scimitar which is a family crest most resembling that of the Stratford or Kennedy family (UK). The spoons measure app 3 5/8 and together weigh more than 38 grams. The spoons have Elkinton’s FE mark as well but have the date mark for London 1880.
