Set of 2 Hand Wrought Austrian Hungarian Solid Silver Salt Cellar Turks Turban Figural Faces with Gold Wash. Presented is a great fantastic salt cellar with three legs with figural Turks turban faces and gold wash. They are marked on the bottom for what I believe to be the Hungarian city of Arad, 13 loth or 812 ½ fine Silver; American standard sterling silver is 925, so there is slightly less silver in this alloy, and a makers mark of FW in script. They have a gold washed interior and a fine gadrooning just beneath the exterior rim and an even finer gadroon banded beneath. With fine detailed turbaned figural faces looking out of the three curved feet that end in a ball pedestal base. These are lovely highly detailed pieces with only a very few pin-prick dings, no dents or monogram, some very fine scratches from gentle use and care and a bit of ware to gold wash interior. It is a lovely set made for, and intended for the best and most elegant of tables and settings. It is an excellent find for the silver collector. Hallmarks for what I believe to be Arad Hungary and a makers mark of FW.
