Antique to vintage early 20th century French sterling silver & vermeil open salt cellars and spoons set with foliage, ribbon and reed pattern, Empire style crossed torch and arrow filled quiver decoration, made by Parisian silversmith Joseph Crossard. The set consists of 2 salt cellars with their original glass inserts and 2 matching salt spoons. The liners and spoons all bear the post 1838 French Minerva 1st standard hallmark for. Maker’s marks are for Joseph Crossard, active from 1910 at 36 rue de Montmorency in Paris. Cellars measure 2 3/4″ or 7 cm length x 2 1/8″ or 5,4 cm deep x 1 3/4 or 4,4 cm tall. Spoons measure 2 7/8 or 7,2 cm length. Total weight of the silver (without the inserts): 53,6gr. Total weight with box: 270gr.
