Fabulous antique 19th century French sterling silver salt cellars 4-piece with original spoons. A set of truly exceptional quality, for the richness of his decoration for his form and sculpting which is itself quite rare. This masterpiece by Lapparra is ornately decorated in Empire styling with torches, swans wings, palmette, laurel wreath and flowers decoration. Rare, these salt cellars are equipped with a sterling silver background and finished with glass liners. The set is presented in its original box. Model designed by the painter Baron Francois Gerard in 1823. He was one of the principal painters of the First Empire and the Restoration. Court painter under Napoleon, then first painter to Louis XVIII and Charles X, Gerard enjoyed a great reputation, not only French but also European.
