Pair of George II Sterling Silver Salt Cellars. These matching salt cellars are made from sterling silver. They are of plain, cauldron form and each stands on 3 hoof feet. They come with blue glass liners which, judging from the thickness, are probably original. Both are hallmarked for London 1746 with the makers mark of David Hennell I. These cellars are in beautiful condition with no dents to the bodies or kinks to the rims and both stand nice and level without a wobble. There are a few pinhead dints but they a barely visible. The glass liners have no chips or cracks. However, the inside of one has an inset channel running halfway around the liner. I imagine that there were some chips to the inner edge at some stage and that these were ground out. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN PAGE TO SEE MORE IMAGES Approximate Measurements.
