An excellent set of 4, three footed sterling silver open salt cellars, or condiment dishes with sterling spoons in a satin and velvet lined leather case. Marked on the satin liner in the lid, “Goldsmith’s Alliance Limited, Cornhill, London”. Each of the salt cellars is stamped with British standard, city, date, duty marks. Also stamped with the maker “JJAS”. The spoons are marked with the British and makers marks. The bowls and spoons are tarnished, have not been cleaned and are in very good condition. The box is a little dirty inside, the leather dry and scuffed, could be cleaned if you choose, the hinge works and the lid closes, but the latch doesn’t seem to catch properly. But overall, considering age this unusual set is in very nice condition. Each bowl is 2 1/8″ dia and 1 1/4″ tall. The box is 7 1/4″ dia and 2 1/4″ tall. Spoons are 3 long.
