DESCRIPTION Stunning silver replica master salt cellar from the Irwin Untermyer collection gifted to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in the late 1960’s. Originally produced in 1662 possibly by Christopher Shaw this is a replica of one of 12 originals made as gifts. The clover shaped open salt pot is inscribed on the inside and the bottom and the sides of the pot bear Heames armorial crests. Inscribed inside: 12 of these the guift of James Heames twice warden 1662 Inscribed underneath: James Heames His Guift Inscribed sides: Armorial Crest This would make a great addition to your vintage table service decor or sterling collection. This would make a great birthday gift idea. MEASUREMENTS Salt cellar measures 4″ long by 1″ tall by 3.5 wide and weighs 100g.
