Pair of English sterling silver salt cauldrons with openwork decoration, hallmarked from London in 1775 with the makers mark being that of Thomas Daniell. The thicker of the two glass liners is a replacement and in excellent order, some small top edge nibbles on the thinner original one. Some very old and good repairs on some legs (a loupe required to see this), both with a very slight wobble on each, one has a very small piece of openwork missing (please see close up image). Very clean order and even with the imperfections these are a very good pair. Each measures 77x57mm and stand 49mm tall. MAKER or SPONSOR MARK. Gross = 255, Excluding Glass Liners = 87. Excluding Glass Liners = 2.79.
