Antique / vintage pair of salt and pepper shakers. Silver tops and glass bottoms. Made circa 1920-40’s. Irish Setter or Spaniels. Measurements: Each dog is approximately 3 inches (8 cm) high. Dogs sit on their haunches in a begging position. The bodies are made of clear glass. The necks and heads are made of solid 800 silver, the standard used in most of Europe. The dogs are long-eared with long snouts – either Irish Setters or Cocker Spaniels or related breed. Marks: the head of each dog is hallmarked with an oval containing the European silver standard mark, 800. Another mark reads 587MI. Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
