This particularly attractive, handsome salt cellars have Repousse (embossed) decoration in ornate Rococo / Louis XV Style, featuring rocaille scallop border, scrolling, flowers. It is done by hand and the technique is difficult to master – A sheet of silver is heated and the pattern raised from the reverse side using tools of different shapes. The pair comes with original glass inner with star-cut bottom. A great adornment to a well-set table! 950 purity sterling silver, which is higher than standard. Used since 1838 in Paris 2.
