Antique, Art Nouveau standing salt and pepperette shaker set. Made by William B Kerr & Co, Newark, New Jersey circa 1890 – 1905. Measurements: Approx 3 3/4 inches high. Weigh 89.3 grams (together). Classic Art Nouveau: the slightly conical round bases are plain. The baluster shaped bodies with applied floral and foliate decoration entirely covering the shoulders and tapering to elongated, scrolling foliage down the narrow sides, ending in a flourish at the bottom of the body. Whiplash, intertwining flowers and leaves surround the entire upper area of the salt and pepperette. Mushroom shaped caps with holes – one with more for pepper and one withe less holes for salt. The holes are of a comfortable size and are clear and unblocked. Hallmarks: engraved STERLING 1332 and logo of the WB Kerr co. Condition: generally good with a number of small dings commensurate with age that do not detract from the loveliness of the pair. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE. See our policies below.
