EARLY UNUSUAL TIFFANY & CO STERLING SILVER SALT CELLARS ED MOORE ORGANIC FORM. This is a very early pair of sterling silver salt cellars made by Edward C. Moore for Tiffany and Company. They are heavy and nicely formed with organic motif leaves and branches for feet. One still has a gold wash on the inside, but the other is nearly gone. One is marked for Moore and Tiffany. While the other has had the makers mark replaced. They are both monogrammed with a Gothic “O” and. Are obviously a pair and in keeping with the high quality of work that Moore produced. The one with the. Gold wash weighs 62 grams the other weighs 58 grams. They each stand 1 1/2″ high and almost 2 1/2″. They are free of bends or dings, but the one without the wash has lots of scratching on the inside. I did not want to try to polish out the scratching as it would remove the rest of the gold wash. Still show lots of detail in the leaves and wood, especially for pieces that are over 150 years old. Is a great old pair. How many meals have this pair seen… If they could only talk. Thank you for enjoying. The item “EARLY UNUSUAL TIFFANY & CO STERLING SILVER SALT CELLARS ED MOORE ORGANIC FORM” is in sale since Monday, May 29, 2017.
