A Fine Antique 18th Century George III English Sterling Silver & Crystal Salt Cellar. This wonderful and antique piece is really beautiful. The crystal decoration based on the shape of the diamond was a British innovation and towards the end of 18th century objects table of cut glass made in a big table services, which were exported to America, Spain and Portugal and were also used in throughout England. The oval crystal liner has a wonderful scalloped rim and the base is cutting with a star form. It captures to perfection the elegant simplicity of the intricate pattern which encircles this handcrafted piece. It is fully hallmarked. Maker´s Mark – Standard mark – City mark – Date letter – Duty mark. D – JAMES DARQUITS Jr. London maker´s mark Reg. London City Mark: Leopard´s head. The crowned Leopard´s head was used 1478 – 1822.
