Very rare and collectible antique English Sterling Silver Salt basket with cobalt glass liner. Created by the well known silversmiths of Frances Purton & Thomas Johnson. Sterling items made by these silversmiths may be seen in museums, such as the Harvard Art Museum. Frances Purton & Thomas Johnson. Tall 2 & 3/8″ Length 3 & 5/8″. Excellent for its age. Two very tiny chips on rim of cobalt line that you can barely see. I do my best to describe items as I see them and they are all carefully inspected.
