The cellar is shaped like a Viking dragestil long boat with wonderful detail in both vessel and feet. Very much like Art Nouveau in style. It is marked 830S for purity of silver and Lo for Brodrene Lohne – translates to Lohne Brothers, founded in 1921 by Alf and Johan Lohne. While the individual salts are more common, this is a much harder to find master salt cellar measuring approx. 6″ long, 2″ wide at feet, 3 1/4 tall. Original as found condition, unpolished. Believed to be an early piece, I’m not sure of the date of manufacture. This piece has beautiful detail. The condition looks to be excellent. No dents, bends, breaks or repairs. Again, could use a polishing or leave the attractive natural patina. The item “HTF Brodrene Lohne, Norge Viking Ship Master Salt, Bergen, Norway, 830 Silver” is in sale since Thursday, May 3, 2018.
