GEORGE II STERLING SILVER SALT DIPS CELLARS 1756 HALLMARKED D. THIS LOVELY PAIR OF 18TH CENTURY STERLING SILVER SALT CELLARS OR DIPS JUST CAME FROM A LOCAL ESTATE. THIS RARE SET IS MARKED WITH AN’A’ DATE MARK THAT I IDENTIFIED AS 1756 AND A HALLMARK D. (I THINK) INSIDE A RECTANGLE. THE SIZE IS 2.50″ DIAMETER AND 1.35″ HIGH AND EACH WEIGHS 43.7 GRAMS. THE CONDITION IS EXCELLENT, THE GLASS LINER IS LIKELY A REPLACEMENT. I HAVE NOT POLISHED THESE AT ALL DECIDING TO LEAVE THAT TO THE NEW OWNER / COLLECTOR, THE CONDITION IS EXCELLENT. I HAVE ANOTHER NEAR MATCHING PAIR OF SALTS LISTED RIGHT NOW ALSO THAT CAME FROM THE SAME ESTATE, BE SURE TO SEE THEM.
