This is an extremely attractive pair of antique English silver salts. They are hallmarked Colen Cheshire, Chester 1898. They are a good weight, 135g combined without the liners in. They are heavily embossed with floral decoration. There is a Cartouche on each engraved with the letter E. They have their original blue glass liners and the salts have a gilt wash internally. One is a little more gold than the other. There is no damage to these salts. They are 120+ years old so of course they do show very light signs of wear. Each blue liner has a couple of little nicks to the edge but certainly nothing major. One blue liner sits a little higher than the other but these are hand moulded pieces of glass. The salts each measure 10cm from handle to handle, 4.5cm high and 6cm wide. They will be a fine addition to any collection.
