This small salt was made in Norway in 1900 and is a unique example of the technique of Plique-à-jour. The jewels are green, ruby red, colors set in intricate detailed half circles of silver and between each half circle. The dragon heads at each end are beautifully detailed with the neck reaching around to the bottom of the salt. One the bottom of the salt are the initials MH and numbers 930S. Norwegian for Sterling silver 925/1000. MH stands for Marius Hammer, a very famous silversmith from Bergen. One of Norways greatest!
