An antique open sterling silver and gilt figural master salt dish , by Tiffany & Company in the neoclassical taste , circa 1855 , the rim with a Greek key border and supported by tripod hoof feet , each foot surmounted by a ram’s head , engraved on one side with four interlaced scrolling letters surrounded by floral sprays in the late 18th century style, the base marked. Moore , measuring 3-1/4 in. Overall by 1-5/8 in. Tall, a slight protrusion into the bowl of two of the supports, a faint and shallow 1/2 line dent under the base center, with scratches, tarnish and wear commensurate with age and use. ยน One of the two numerals is most probably a pattern number while the other may be a commission or order number.
