Married Set 23pc Sterling Silver Late 19th Century Repousse Salt Cellars Spoons. Presented is a set of sterling silver salt cellars or caviar dishes and salt spoons from the late 1800s. This is a married set, the 12 salt cellars are American and the 11 salt spoons are English. The salt cellars were made by S. Cottle & Company of New York and are done in a wonderful, floral repousse pattern and the insides have a slight gold wash. The spoons were made in London in 1890 and are done in a nice ball top form. The underside of each cellar is marked with the S. Cottle & Co hallmark and sterling and the back of each spoon is marked with the leopards head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter P for 1890 and a makers mark. This set is in excellent overall condition and the designs on the outside of the salt cellars are crisp. There are no damages and no repairs. Each salt cellar measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter.
