Elegant antique French Napoleon III era sterling silver double open salt or sweet meats caddy pair with ornate Neo-Gothic style decoration, gold or vermeil bowl interiors and wonderful condition! Gothic style’ferule’ or rat tail style decoration around the bowls, the outers with medallions sans monograms and both with those lovely center handles. Each marked with the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark in several places, the tiny number “1” within those marks means they’re in. 950 silver 95% pure and higher than the. 925 standard for “sterling” silver. I’ve not found silversmith marks, normally tiny but sometimes custom or commissioned works were not marked. I’ll go over them again but pretty sure I didn’t just miss them. Mid to late 1800s or Napoleon III era for sure though and both gorgeous! Very good to excellent condition. I don’t see any dents or dimples to note. The gold plated or “vermeil” interiors are a bit age worn but no overall losses there either. See pictures for weights and measurements. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important!
