Vintage Sterling Silver Cruet Set. This stylish cruet set comprises a mustard and pepper pot, salt cellar and 2 spoons which are made from sterling silver. The condiment holders are of angular form with canted corners in the Art Deco manner. The finish is plain with the exception of an ornate handle on the mustard pot and finials to the pepper and mustard pot. The salt cellar and mustard pot come with their original blue glass liners. All pieces are hallmarked for Birmingham with the makers mark of the Barker Ellis Silver Co. The pots are dated for 1967 and the spoons for 1965. The set is presented in its original red-coloured case with drop down clasps, white silk lining to the lid and red felt to the base. Interestingly, this set comes complete with its original bill of sale from 1968. This set is in beautiful condition with no dents or dints to any of the silver items. There are some pitting spots inside the mustard and salt pots which is often caused by the liners rubbing against the silver. Both liners are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The case is also in good condition with no damage to the exterior. The clasps work well although one is very slightly bent. The linings have no wear or staining but the felt is slightly tired with age. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN PAGE TO SEE MORE IMAGES Approximate Measurements.
