Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous 19th Century cased set of English Sterling Silver salt cellars with matching salt spoons, c. The salt cellars are shell shaped with elaborately embossed outer edge and sit on three paw feet. Salt spoons have a round flower shaped bowl, a straight stem and a round ball on the handle end. The salt cellars and spoons are marked with English hallmarks for Birmingham, Sterling, date letter for 1899 and have unidentified maker’s stamp with initials “W G K”. The set comes in it’s original fitted velvet and silk lined leather-like presentation box. Salt cellars measures 3/4″ high, 3 long and 2 1/2″ wide. Each weighs 20 grams. The salt spoons measure 2 1/2 long. Each weighs 5 grams. Combined weight of silver is 50 grams. Weight of cased set is 5.4 ounces. Each piece of silver is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and appear to have never been used. The case is in very good condition reflecting only minor signs of normal wear. The hinges are tight and the case opens and closes correctly with a working clasp in the front. The interior is original and in clean condition with only minimal signs of wear.
