Vintage early 20th century French sterling silver salt set with ornate Classical style floral, bead and ribbon decoration. Comprising of two open salt cellars with original glass liners and two small salt spoons. The set comes complete with a storage/presentation box. In overall good condition. The pieces show minor signs of age and use and have a few light surface scratches and small spots of tarnish. One handle is slightly pushed and the other cellar has a very faint dent to the body. The glass liners are in good condition. They may have the normal manufacturing flaws (like bubbles) typical of vintage glassware, but no chips or cracks to note. The cellars are hallmarked with the French Minerva 1st standard mark for. The spoons bear the Minerva 2nd hallmark for. Maker’s marks are for the company of Brosse & Cie. Active from 1913 at 7 rue Froissart in Paris. The cellars measure 3 inches (7,7 cm) wide including handles, 1 1/2 inches (3,9 cm) deep and 1 5/8 inches (4,2 cm) tall. The spoons are 2 13/16 inches (7,1 cm) long. The combined silver weight is 49,7 grams. Total weight with box is 261 grams. The box is structurally sound with good working hinges and clasp. The outside show some surface wear, rubbing and the interior lid lining is tearing in places and has some minor staining from age. There is a very tiny gap on the left side of the lid/bottom frame. Measures 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) wide, 3 1/2 inches (8,8 cm) back to front and is 2 1/16 inches (5,2 cm) tall.
