Antique Belle Epoque era French sterling silver double open salt cellar with cobalt blue glass liners. Featuring a reticulated sterling silver framework decorated with stylized acanthus and arabesques. Resting on decorative feet. The handle is a lovely confection of acanthus and medallions with openwork scrolling near the base. In overall good condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks to the beautiful cobalt blue glass inserts. Measures 6 1/8″ height x 6 3/8″ length, the salts are 2 3/8 diameter. Silver weight is 106.5 grams. Hallmarked with the the French Minerve 1st standard mark. In use from 1838, the mark indicates a silver content of. 950/1000 95% silver and a higher grade than the standard.
