Oval footed silver open salt cellar. The cellar is in the shape of a bulging open tub with a short out-turned lip. The bowl sits on four short curved cabriole legs. An elegantly simple and pure design. Fully hallmarked for Austria (It is not clear, but it looks like 1787, but could be 1707), 13 for silver purity. The zig-zeg mark is done by the assayer to test it’s purity. Maker Marks I G, as well as engraved monogram D I Z and the date 1798 probably the date it was given to someone.
