Three incredibly detailed standing lions each holding up a shield. The work is outstanding and you will “not” find another example like this anywhere! Wendt’s work is impossible to find in any form other than flatware and tea sets. Gold gilt inside and Incredibly rare to find such a figural piece done in such details with standing lions. A true piece of American silver history. This large master salt measures 3 1/2″ across at the top and stands a tad bit over 3″ tall. Important to note that almost all of Wendt’s work has retailer marks alone and one must know by his style if it’s actually wendt’s work.
