Antique Sterling Silver Condiment Set. Consists of a Salt Cellar, Pepper Shaker, Lidded Mustard Pot, and salt spoon (all stored in what appears to be the original fitted case). Each piece is hallmarked. These were made by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd of London. Date codes vary 1908 – 1912. The spoon hallmarks vary slightly, same maker, but assayed in Birmingham and dates to 1931. There would have been a second spoon with the set, which is not present. For size reference, the salt cellar measures approx. The pepper shaker measures approx. Combined weight of the set (excluding case) is approx. This set is used and considering age (100+ years old), it is in good condition. There is typical light wear as you’d expect. On close inspection I have noted approx. Two small, subtle dings on the pepper shaker. The lidded pepper pot has a bit more wear, I have noted has approx. Four small subtle dings. The set could use a good polish and buff. The original case has some fraying of the silk on the inside, along hinge. There is wear on the exterior of the box, including some flaking and missing portions of the faux leather finish. The case latch and hinge both work fine. This beautiful set can be used and would make a nice heirloom to pass down in your family. Please see photos for more details.
