Offered is an elegant and rare pair of antique Austrian vermeil footed master salt cellars in the French Empire / Biedermeier neoclassical taste, probably made in Vienna circa 1810-30. 800 fine silver, these basin shaped cellars with rams head details rest on 3 legs attached to a stepped round base. These salt cellars exude an aristocratic history, luxury, and Old World elegance. Hallmarks on the outer base of each pieces are unfortunately rather obscured, but there. Condition: excellent “Estate found” condition. Both pieces have clean interiors and secure bases. Surface scratches/ patina/ tarnish commensurate with age and use.
