Matched Pair Vintage Silver & Crystal Glass Swan Master Salt Cellars / Cavier Bowls. Could of course be used for a number of other serving uses (candy bowl, sugar bowl, condiments, etc). The bowls feature silver wings which can be moved to cover the bowls or open to give access to the contents. These are large “master” bowls, rather than the more common smaller versions. Overall each measures approx. 6-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ x 6-1/4 tall. When wings are extended, they measure approx. 8-1/4 in diameter (wingtip to wingtip). Each bowl has a hallmark on one of the wings “HS” (makers mark) & “800”. 800 silver is a common silver standard in Europe. The silver fineness is 800/1000, which is slightly lower than Sterling Silver which is 925/1000. An advantage of 800 silver is that it is tougher than 925 Sterling Silver (harder to scratch, etc). These bowls are used and are in excellent condition. There is some light wear, as you’d expect. Specifically I’ve noted some tarnish and some light surface wear on the silver. They could use a good polish and buff. The crystal glass portions are in good condition. On close inspection I’ve noted each has a few tiny approx. Pin head or smaller sized chips on edges, nothing serious. I have pointed out an example in photos. Please see photos for more details. My Inventory # B2.
