2 Samual Godbethere Edgar Wigan Sterling Silver Salt Cellars. A pair of hard to find salt cellars dating back to 1788. These are by Samual Godbethere Edgar Wigan. Both are in great condition. Have gone over them with a loupe and did not see any signs of repair. No wobble to them. Hallmarks on the underside are slightly worn down, still very legible. There is also an E B monogram on the underside of both. The cobalt blue inserts are free of chipping. With the inserts one fits snugly and the other slips in with ease. All that has been done to these is the interiors have been slightly polished up, inserts were still in them after years of storage. There are some spots on the interiors, surface only, cannot feel them. So with that these will need to be polished/buffed etc.. I could copy and paste great info about SGEW.
