2 Sterling Silver Salt Cellars + Spoons in Case. This set comprises 2 salt cellars and spoons which are all made from sterling silver. The cellars are of shaped, ovoid from with raised ribs to each corner, the interiors are gilded and they stand on 4 pad feet. The salt spoons are in the Old English pattern but one is not original to the set although is very similar to the other. The cellars are hallmarked for Birmingham 1908 with the maker’s mark of W J Myatt. One spoon is also hallmarked for Birmingham 1908 with the maker’s mark of A J Bailey – spoons were often sourced out to other silversmiths so I do believe it’s original. The matched spoon is hallmarked for Sheffield 1902 with the maker’s mark of Lee & Wigfull. The set is presented in its original black-coloured case with drop-down clasp, silk lining to the lid and velvet to the base. The silver is in lovely condition with on dents or dinks to the cellar and no dents, kinks or wear to the spoons. The gilding in the cellars is nice and clean with no wear. The case is also in very good condition with no scuffing or staining to the exterior and the clasp is in working order.
