The cauldron-shaped cellars on three scrolled feet with gilt interior and repousse decoration. Notably, these dishes are made of sterling silver and not the coin silver that was more prevalent at the time. Gale was a true master at his craft, partnering from time to time with other great makers such as Wood and Hughes, and creating pieces for the early Tiffany & Co. It is no surprise that the materials chosen would be the highest quality. Condition: excellent, with light scratching and other signs of use. The gilt interiors are in very good condition. Dimensions: 2 1/2″Dia x 1 1/2″ H; each cellar weighs 46 grams.
