2 Antique French 950 Silver Salt Cellars. These beautiful French salt cellars are made from 950 grade silver (95% purity) and the spoons (which are matched to the cellars) are British sterling silver. The cellars are decorated with laurel wreaths, scrolling foliage and sprigs of mistletoe. They are richly gilded inside and come with their original clear glass Liners. The spoons are in the Old English pattern. Each cellar is stamped with the French assay mark for 950 silver (Minerva’s head) and the maker’s mark of Henri Soufflot of Paris. This silversmith was registered between 1884 & 1910. The spoons are both hallmarked for Birmingham (1956 & 1958) with the maker’s mark of Adie Brothers. The cellars are in beautiful condition with no dents, the decorative detail is nice and crisp and the gilding has no wear. The liners are also in very good condition with the exception of a small chip to the edge of one (please see the photos). The spoons are in good condition.
