A fine pair of sterling silver salt cellars in the shape of scallop shells on dolphin fish feet. Top craftsmanship, substantial and detailed. Each ridge inside the shells is stamped with a pattern, each bowl sits on three arching fish, scales and all. Marked inside the scale with “GU” and hallmarks for Birmingham, year 1883. Found in an old California farmhouse estate with a very good silver collection. Beautiful from every angle; a great pair for the collector. Excellent condition, only minor tarnish.
