From Alexander Macrae in 1872. Raised triangular star shape wavy rim with beading leaf framed Old Man of the Forest (German) masks alternating with leaf and vine spray. Atop cast ball feet. Victorian sterling silver pair salts in the 17th century style 3 3/4 inches and 5 standard ounces. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The mask and floral retain original detail.
