Elegant antique French sterling silver open salt or sweet meat with Empire style swan figures, vermeil or gold plated interior, original glass liner and even a small spoon! Isn’t this one lovely, the swan motif always popular. A single yes and surely an open salt though you really could use it for whatever you like. It bears the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number “1” with that mark means it’s in. 950 silver 95% pure so higher than the. 925 standard for “sterling” silver. The silversmith mark is tiny and a bit obscured but I’m pretty sure it’s for PUIFORCAT! Emile Puiforcat or the House of Puiforcat, long lauded as makers to royalty and purveyors of only the finest of fine. Now owned by Hermes of Paris, another name we all recognize. A lovely little piece, don’t miss it! Very good to excellent condition. No way to say if the spoon is original but I’d guess not, it has more of a rococo style but works and looks great together. No damage that I can see to the sterling, no chips or cracks to the glass liner. See pictures for measurements. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important! Our fine inventory is very important.
