SET FOUR 18TH CENTURY ENGLISH OPEN SALTS WITH SALT SPOONS. The salts have repousse floral and medallion decoration and they are monogrammed R. The salts are 1-3/4 tall. Two fo them have very small dents to the interior base. They are date marked to 1762, marked with the lion passant for London sterling, have the crowned leopard head used until 1822 and are marked D-H by maker David Hennell, working in London from 1739 until 1962. The salts have a total combined weight of 10.8 troy ounces. Accompanying, but not matching, the salts are four master salt spoons with a shell design and light vermeil wash to the bowls. These are 4-3/8 in length. They are also monogrammed R. The spoons are marked for London sterling with the lion passant, date code for 1816, King George III duty mark used between 1786 and 1821 and maker’s mark WE WF for William Eley and William Fearn, registered in London from 1798 until 1824.
