Boxed pair of French sterling silver open salt cellars with removable glass liners. Each cellar features an elegant Empire style decoration with gilt interior. The set also includes two small salt spoons with gold washed bowls. Each has a pretty floral motif handle. In good condition with light surface scratches and some age tarnish. There are no major defects like dents, splits or repairs. Cellars are hallmarked with post 1838 French Minerva 1st standard mark indicating. Spoons are marked with the Minerva 2nd hallmark for. Cellars measure 1 1/4 inches (3,3 cm) tall, 2 1/8 inches (5,4 cm) wide and 1 3/8 inches (3,5 cm) deep. Spoons measure approx 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) long, and 1/2 inches (1,4 cm) wide at bowl. The spoons and cellars (without liners) have a combined weight of 30,7 grams. Total weight with box: 259gr. The presentation box is structurally sound with normal signs of aging and use. The exterior shows some minor wear and the interior fabric has a little staining. Measures 7 1/8″ (18 cm) x 4″ (10 cm) x 2 3/8 (6 cm).
