A very handsome and usable set of four Victorian sterling silver salts beautifully decorated with a floral repousse with ribbons. In its original box by Poile & Smith. Picketts Court jewellers, Oxford road. The salts all have matching hallmarks for Sheffield 18 96. The makers mark is also present not but well struck unreadable on all 4. 2 show shield d over d I believe it is for John and William Deakins. The set sits in it’s original silk lined presentation box in poor condition measuring 6 7/8 ” x 6 7/8 “. Each salt measures 2. 75 ” x 2.25″in diameter 1.25 tall. Weight of all 4 is 160 grams.
