I have an additional pair slightly larger salts in a similar style, so please reach out if a larger set is desired. Ornate pair of two French sterling silver footed salts with matching spoons with shell bowls. The salts have glass crystal inserts and the silver has Louis XVI style designs of leaves and flourishes. The insides are beautifully goldwashed / vermeil gold plated providing a warm glow from the inside while in use. The cartouche on each side has a single initial monogram G. No monograms on the spoons. These are antique pieces that I acquired in France from the late 1800s / turn of the century. The spoon is stamped with a maker’s mark for Edouard Ernie whose firm began in Paris in 1883, but I didn’t see any maker’s marks on the dishes. However they seem to be a set so may be the same maker on the dishes. Each Dish measures about 2 1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches and almost 1 1/2 inches tall. Spoon are about 2 1/4 inches long. Three pieces are marked with the French 1st title Minerve head hallmark for 950 (better purity / more silver than American Sterling) Silver. One spoon is not hallmarked but it is identical to the one that is so it clearly came with the set. In good estate condition considering age. One of the crystal inserts is cloudy in the base, not sure if it is calcification buildup or scuffs. I don’t see any pin dings or dents to the silver. No chips or cracks to the glass. Very nice patina and shine. Both pieces have surface wear and scratches from use and polish over the years. Dishes are still vibrant in color with the warm gold vermeil plating over the silver.
