An antique silver boxed set composed of nine (9) sterling silver open salts and six (6) salt spoons. The footed salts have a basket weave construction around the sides and measure 1 1/2 in diameter. There are nine (9) matching butter pats which are plain in the center and have a basket weave border. The salts are marked lion, anchor, G, sterling 995 and C date letter for 1870 and the butter pats or nut dishes are marked number 25 with the same date letter. Spoons are 2 1/4 long and are marked 860 and are not by Gorham. Total weight without the spoons 15.65 troy oz. The set is housed in the original fitted velvet, satin and leather case. Box is 12 1/4″ by 8 1/2″ wide by 2 3/4 deep. Retailed by Kirkpatrick of New York. Some salt pitting in the salts, otherwise in good condition with no dents. There is some staining of the satin on the inside of the lid of the box. The outside of the box is in fair condition with some scuffing.
