Presented is a lovely pair of American sterling silver open salt cellars, with spoons. The quality and skill with which the salts are made suggests a high end American maker, but unfortunately we do not know the maker. The spoons are a marriage, but match the salts admirably in design. The salts are done like little pedestal bowls or chalices in form. The salts feature designs of flower baskets and ribbons, separately cast and applied, as well as hand chased classical shell, foliate and scroll motifs. The interiors of the salts have a rich gold wash, and the bowls of the spoons have a gold wash as well. This set is in excellent condition. The details of the chased and applied designs are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each salt and each spoon is stamped sterling. Each salt is about 2 inches tall. Each spoon is about 3 3/8 inches long. The total weight for the set is 147 grams or 5.2 regular ounces.
