This is a very handsome and extremely rare 18C ANTIQUE FRENCH STERLING SILVER OPEN SALT CELLARS, circa 1781, in elegant Louis XVI style. THIS IS A CLASSICALLY BEAUTIFUL PAIR OF Antique French Sterling Silver & Blue Crystal Open Salt Cellars, consists of deep cobalt blue inners and pair of sterling serving spoons. This fabulous Pair of Open Salt Cellars bears hallmark of Parisian master silversmith François Corbie, circa 1781, Paris. The design reflects the style of the period – still during the reign of Louis XVI, before the Revolution, showcasing the rich details and ingenious craftsmanship of the period. It features rose and floral swag with pearl borders, centralised oval cartouche and four casted feet, embellished with acanthus and lion’s clad feed. The blue crystal inners are movable, thick and heavy. It comes with sterling silver serving spoons. Hallmarked Paris Poinçon de la maison commune of 1781 to guarantees solid sterling silver.
