Set of 4 English Victorian Solid Silver Gilt Open Salt Cellars 1874 Unusual trefoil bowls with spectacularly detailed cast and chased acanthus leaf borders. Each salt cellar is stamped underneath with the hallmarks C. F for Charles Favel, crown for Sheffield, lion for sterling silver, date letter for 1874, head of Queen Victoria. The salts can be stacked neatly on top of each other. In the style of 16th century German silver open salts. Lot is for all four pieces together. Size of each: 9.5 x 2.5 cm Total weight of all four: 255 g There are several small dots of oxidation in some of the crevices, but overall in spectacular condition with no damage, repairs or dints.
