Lovely set 4 Georg Jensen Sterling Silver 235C Salt Cellars Nut Baskets
Lovely set 4 Georg Jensen Sterling Silver 235C Salt Cellars Nut Baskets. Presented is a lovely set of 4 Georg Jensen sterling silver open salt cellars or little baskets. These cellars date to around the 1930s-1940s. The salts are done in the design numbered 235C. The baskets are done in a typically elegant Modernist form, with applied figural flower blossoms on the sides where the handles meet the bodies. The bases have an openwork design, with the actual basin of the basket supported by little pistils or buds on stems. These are gorgeous, handwrought pieces, with the marks of hand hammering visible in the finish. The salts are all monogrammed EBB on the rim of the foot, which is hard to notice with casual use. This set is in excellent condition. The baskets have only been lightly hand cleaned. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each salt is stamped with the Georg Jensen maker’s mark as well as sterling 925 S for sterling silver, Denmark, and the product number 235C. Each salt measures about 3 by 2 1/2 by 2 inches, LxWxH. The total weight for the set is 183 grams or 6.5 regular ounces. Powered by SixBit’s eCommerce Solution.
