Austrian Silver Open Salt Cellar Antique 1816 56.3 Grams
Austrian silver open salt cellar dated to 1816 with 3 cabriole legs ending in hoof feet. The rim has a beautiful crisp design. The underside hallmarked with the Austrian mark with 13 for the purity of the silver, date 1816, and the letter A for Vienna at the top for the city. There is an other mark that I can’t make out. The mark for the date is a little fuzzy, but with a magnifier you can see 1816. It is in good antique condition. As a personal remark: I keep one at my dressing table for my jewelry for the night, since I don’t use it for salt. Size: 1.24″ High, 2.5″ Diameter. Weight: 56.3 Grams.
