4 FABULOUS VICTORIAN SILVER PLATE DOLPHIN SHELL FIGURAL OPEN SALT CELLAR BOWLS. Hello, thank you for having a look at my auctions. Although I was a little down and out over the summer I still managed to acquire some incredible and important treasures for my first sales of the fall season. Listed this week is many Rare and Beautiful examples of Georgian, Victorian and Art Deco Sterling Silver, numerous Sterling Flatware Sets, fine Silver Plate and Solid Silver pieces from all over the world! The Salt Cellars are quite unique and I have not seen another set quite like this. The Salters feature wonderful Dolphin or Fish Figures on wavy bases with large Shell form Bowls on their backs, much more fabulous than my photos show. The details throughout are excellent and the Bowls show some of the original rich Gold Gilding. The Salters are completely unmarked so I will have to assume they are Silver Plate but they sure feel like they could be some grade of solid silver. The Salt Bowls are in good all original condition with some signs of use and age throughout including black spotting inside the bowls. The Salters are nice larger size examples for use serving Salt or for Sushi Dipping Sauces etc, measuring 3-1/2″ long by 2″ tall or the Bowls themselves measure 2-1/2″ long by 2″ wide by 1 deep.
