A Matched Set of 4 Georgian Sterling Silver Salt Cellars. Of Circular Form with Beaded Rim on 3 Hoof Feet. Made in London in 1764/1774, during the reign of King George III. These Georgian Silver Salt Cellars are in the classic circular form on 3 cast hoof feet. And are nicely decorated with repoussed and chased floral decoration. The bowls are 2 1/2″ in diameter, 1 1/2″ high and weigh 270 grams total. The hallmarks are quite rubbed on these salts. Two have a rubbed maker’s mark – likely David Hennell. Date Letter’I’ for 1764 London. Leopard’s Head Crowned. The other two have Maker’s Mark’D. H’ for David Hennell. Date Letter’T’ for 1774 London.
